Smallville Michael Rosenbaum Lex Luthor

Big news just released about Michael Rosenbaum and his future role in Smallville.

… And for all you fans of Lex Luthor, it’s not gonna be one you really like.

You see, the new Smallville Executive Producers and stuff have released a statement letting people know of Michael’s departure as Lex Luthor from Smallville. Now when I read this, I sort of freaked out. And the reason why is because he has been Smallville from the start.

Now, you may be wondering what the statement read. Well, here is what was released.

“It has been an honor and pleasure to work with Michael for the past seven seasons. He is one of the best actors on television and has never failed to bring a new layer to the character of Lex Luthor in every episode. While Michael won’t be a series regular and we won’t have the pleasure of working with him on a weekly basis this fall, we like to think that we haven’t seen the last of Lex Luthor. Stay tuned.”

… It really is a sad sad day.

But Michael released something cool. Let me share it with you.

An open letter from Michael Rosenbaum about his departure from Smallville…

Dear Smallville Fans,

Well, it’s been seven wonderful years. Your support is what has made Smallville so successful, and I appreciate you all more than you know.

That being said, it is time for me to start the next chapter of my life and career. I hope that I gave you some enjoyment over the years, and that you found my portrayal of Lex Luthor to be satisfying. I am truly grateful, as Smallville fans are the best fans out there. I sincerely hope that you will continue to follow my career through my hair growth period and beyond.

I’m very excited about what the future holds, but certainly, Smallville will always be a part of me. I will definitely miss the greatest crew in the world, and the wonderful cast that has been like a family to me.

Thank you Al and Miles for creating the show. Thank you writers, producers, directors and editors. Thanks Tollin, Robbins and Davola for being there for the pilot. Thank you Peter Roth for employing me for ten years. Lisa Lewis, I miss you already. John Glover, thanks for helping me feel more comfortable touching other actors, while acting. Bizarre, but helpful.

Mostly, I want to thank Greg Beeman for directing the “Oh Sherry” video, by Steve Perry, back in the 80’s.

Thanks crew. Thanks fans. Thanks Smallville.

I love you all,

Michael Rosenbaum

Anyway, you may be wondering what’s gonna happen now, and who Smallville Clark is gonna battle and stuff. Well, word is spreading that there are gonna be 2 new characters in Smallville. From all reports, they are 2 EVIL dudes. 1 is a guy called “Doomsday”. And the other? Well, the other one is a female villian they are keeping under wraps.

I guess we won’t know the details till later.

Until then, make sure you bookmark our site to get all the latest Smallville spoilers and goosip and stuff.

this is bull crap man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you cant have doomsday until you have superman. why are you guys screwing up the superman anthology. i am a very loyal fan of superman and the show is a big success with me but you guys need to really read some more comics and sit down and watch more superman videos or something. you need to tie it in to where it ties into the other stories and makes since. and to top it all off, what spoiled it for me is that too many damb people know his freakin secret already. guys, just stop with season seven becuz i truly think season 8 is gonna be all screwd up.

please, please just stop and think before you go any further with the show. and then know one really knows him until hes superman, come on, just how much crap could he have gone through when he was a teen. apparently his secret was not well kept so now when superman breaks out there gonna be like heeeeyyyy!!!!!!!!! i know him hes clark kent, says lex luthor. please guys dont ruin season 8, im begging you guys.

hell lets just get a mexican guy to replace clark kent or a black guy for that matter. add new flavor but not the stuff he battles already as superman. and lose the metior freaks please that is so played out now. lets end the last 2 episodes of season eight where Jor-El wipes out the memory of all his friend and now they only know him as clark kent and he can become superman without all his friend and enemies saying hey i knew that guy from smallville kansas but why is he flying around in a red cape now lol!!!!!!!!! seriously

Yo, calm down man. There are many different mythos for superman, well every comic for that matter. They are reinventing one that fits the smallville tv line, and i think they are doin a great job. They took the major idea of superman and made it their own. It is supposed to be different from the comics/movies/cartoon.

how many supermen have there been (ie, actors playing the part)? i know it’s not the same as one series, but can’t MR simply be replaced by another actor playing the same role? i think i’d get used to it

no way ! how can it still be a superman show without lex –michael? you guys cant change the story like that. it would just be all like upside down. we, as the fans of smallville believe that season 8 is not gonna be a good show anymore. as it is what you did on the last episode, it sucks already. we are really disappointed.

Oh my God! These guys are right…… We don’t need another lex luthor. Please here is a Brazilian Fan begging you guys to bring the good and old fella ….. as soon be as possible. I believe that the producers of Smallville have done a good and remarkable job, however you all must very carefull in order not to spoil the entire show. Bring new characters and so on but always look back at the comics. PS. I still want to see a lot of the JUSTICE LEAGUE!!!!! Congratulations for the good job…. So far so good!

Hello, without Lex, that is just Ludacrous. Yes it is such a great show. Just about the only thing on t.v. My hubbie and I were just saying how only probably one more season. Since most really good shows only last 9-10 at the most. With Lex this show had so much potential to outlast that. I was so ready for it, and so was everyone else for that matter. Justice League yes,Lex yes, Lana could go and it wouldn’t matter. Just keep the good stuff coming. Michael shame on you, who are you listening to, your agent ,publicist, whoever it is they just screwed you up. People are only going to look at you as Lex. Just likeTom will always be Clark. I’m still going to support the show however allthese things need to be considered.

hey people!!! juz relax! smallville season 8 will be a great show. the important thing is, clark will be on it. right??? lex could use a vacation to find his more evil self. so that when clark will become superman. lex could be as superbad too.

Look, all you bloggers, enough with the comments about michael being off the show! The show itself will be okay without his presence. I hear a rumor that the producers of the show are thinking about keeping the show around for a ninth season, what?! I believe that having the show for one more season is the best thing for the series. And why do I say this?, because this show is about clark maturing into the superman character for four years in high school and four of his college years. 8 is enough for all you fans!
